If this is your first time adopting, or your first time adopting with FHR, you probably have some questions about our process. As stated above, we are a foster based rescue. Being foster based is great for our animals because they do not have to live in a stressful kennel. Some people think this may make it harder to meet the animals in our care. We try our best to make our adoption process as easy as possible, and always welcome any feedback you may have.

The first step in our process is to complete an application. You can forward your completed application to one of the email addresses listed above. Your completed application allows us to learn more about you, and what you are looking for. We can use this information to make sure you are applying for an animal that fits what you want!

The second step in our process is a meet and greet. Once you send in your completed app, a member of the rescue team will contact you to set up a meet and greet. This is a set time for you to meet the animal (or animals) you are interested in. The meet may be held at our office location, a foster home, or a designated location.  Once you meet and fall in love with your new family member we require 24 hours before you can take your fur baby home.

The final step is a home visit. All dogs in our rescue require a home visit. A member of our rescue team will bring your future family member to your home to ensure the best transition. If everything looks good we will finalize the adoption with an adoption contract, and leave your new family member with you!
